Presentation of Judgment Session of Permanent People’s Tribunal for Women of Afghanistan

Women's Initiatives for Gender Justice, signatory to the NAP 1325, is organising the Presentation of Judgment Session of Permanent People’s Tribunal for Women of Afghanistan

On behalf of the People’s Tribunal for Women of Afghanistan, we are pleased to invite you to the presentation of the Judgement Session of the People’s Tribunal for Women of Afghanistan, which will take place on December 11, 2025.

This historic event, organized by Rawadari, HRD+, AHRDO, and DROPS in collaboration with the Permanent Peoples Tribunal, will present the panel’s findings based on the evidence and testimonies delivered during the two days of hearings in October 2025.

This judgment presentation will conclude the Tribunal’s proceedings, which took place from October 8 to 10, 2025, in Madrid, Spain, and brought together prosecutors, survivors, witnesses, human rights defenders, and international legal experts to expose the Taliban’s systemic denial of women’s rights and to demand accountability for the crime of gender persecution. The Tribunal received extensive coverage from both international and Afghan media.

The Tribunal provided Afghan women with a powerful platform to share their stories, present evidence, and call for justice before an international panel of judges. This landmark gathering amplified their voices and challenged both the international community and the Taliban to uphold their obligations to protect women’s rights and dignity.

The Judgement Session will be attended by survivors and witnesses, the international panel of judges, and prominent international figures working in the fields of human rights, women’s rights, and gender justice. An agenda for the session will be shared closer to the date.

Due to funding limitations, the organisation is unfortunately not able to cover the travel or accommodation costs of all attendees.
