The Mukwege Foundation (MF) and the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) are pleased to invite you to a CSW70 parallel event entitled “Access to Justice: Survivors of Conflict-Related Sexual Violence Voice Their Demands”.  The event is co-supported by the Alliance Féministe Francophone (AFF).

Our discussion panel will feature a dialogue between four survivors of conflict-related sexual violence from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ukraine and Nepal. All are members of SEMA, the Global Network of Victims and Survivors to End Wartime Sexual Violence, and of national survivor networks in their respective countries. They will share first-hand insights into what justice and accountability mean to them, drawing on examples from their own contexts, which reflect diverse conflict and post-conflict settings. The dialogue will also underscore the importance of survivors’ meaningful engagement in the design and implementation of justice processes, highlighting how their active participation -or conversely, their exclusion- directly influences whether such processes are relevant and impactful.

Speakers:

  • Dorine Llanta, FIDH
  • Katrien Coppers, Mukwege Foundation
  • Tatiana Mukanire, SEMA network, Democratic Republic of the Congo
  • Alisa Kovalenko, SEMA network and SEMA Ukraine member, Ukraine
  • Iryna Dovgan, SEMA network and SEMA Ukraine member, Ukraine
