Advancing Gender Justice and Accountability through the Women, Peace and Security Agenda

Date: 29 October 2025

Location: UN Women 19th Floor Conference Room | 220 E42nd Street & online

October 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of UN Security Council resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security— a landmark commitment to recognizing the impact of conflict on women and girls and promoting their meaningful participation in peace processes.

This milestone offers a moment to reflect on progress made and challenges ahead. The Gender Justice Platform - a joint initiative of UNDP and UN Women, supported by the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom - has played a key role in advancing gender justice in over 45 conflict-affected countries. Through strategic partnerships and innovative programming, it has strengthened justice institutions, supported survivors, and promoted legal reforms.

This event will bring together Member States, civil society and partners to share insights, explore emerging challenges, and shape the next phase of global action on gender justice and accountability.
