Article Hague Academy Newsletter: Changing gendered realities through economic empowerment in Burundi

Elsa Digne Kagwiza is an alumnus of the 2021 Gender Responsive Governance course at the Hague Academy for Local Governance. As project manager Gender Equality and Inclusion at Jeunesse au Service d’un Burundi Meilleur, she aims to improve socioeconomic opportunities for women and girls in Burundi and contribute to gender equality. She explains how she applied what she learned during the course to address women's economic empowerment, also involving men and local leadership in post-conflict Burundi.
