Coffee meeting with the delegation of the Libyan Minister of Women's Affairs

NAP 1325 signatories and WO=MEN members are cordially invited to a coffee meeting with a delegation of women politicians from Libya, ao the Libyan Minister of Women’s Affairs. Dr Houria Al-Tarmal and the other members of the delegation - amongst others a member of Parliament and members of the Network of Elected Women (WEON) - are eager to meet with the Dutch NAP 1325 community and members of WO=MEN to exchange lessons learned on women's rights and women's meaningful participation in political decision making and security processes. The visit to WO=MEN is part of a study visit organized by VNG International. 

When: 28 November 2023 10:00-11:00hrs (9:30 walk-in)

Location: WO=MEN Office, Korte Poten 9B, 2511 EB The Hague 

(7 minutes walk from The Hague Central Station) 

During the coffee meeting we will:  

  • Introduce Dr. Huria Al-Tarmal to the work of Dutch civil society and women's movement 
  • Exchange experiences on how the Dutch women’s rights movement connects with and supports the global women's rights movement, including women human rights defenders in conflict affected countries 
  • Discuss the women's right's situation in Libya, including women’s health and economic position
