COHAFA dialogue with Sudanese humanitarian and peace actors Protection, locally led response and peacebuilding

Permanent Representation of Denmark 14 October – 11:00-12:30

Under Chatham House Rule

In follow up to the important COHAFA Directors’ discussions on Sudan, we are inviting you to a

collaborative dialogue with Sudanese humanitarian and faith leaders. This delegation represents

a rare opportunity for direct engagement with both national and grassroots humanitarian actors

and faith leaders travelling from Sudan to continue to raise attention to the urgent challenges and

priorities for support to Sudanese civil society and mutual aid, peace & social cohesion, protection

 and upholding IHL.

The visiting delegation includes the directors of women-led organisations, national NGOs, and

the faith leaders. They bring depth of discussion on the complex operational response in

Khartoum, the White Nile, Darfur and accessing impossible to reach areas to support community

response. Given the extremely challenging conditions for advocacy in-country, their visit aims to

connect EU discussions to e ective humanitarian engagement for a principled aid response and

diplomacy in the very complex and fast-evolving contexts in Sudan.
