MIFTAH panel: Colonial Violence Against Palestinian Women

As part of the Global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, and on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Al-Muntada (The Palestinian Non-Governmental Organization Against Domestic Violence Against Women) invites you to join a global webinar highlighting the systematic colonial violence targeting Palestinian women.

The webinar will focus on the ongoing realities of genocide, ethnic cleansing, forced displacement, deprivation, and the wide range of grave violations endured by women.

Speakers:

1.⁠ ⁠Shadia Al-Ghoul, Director of Gaza Office of MIFTAH, The Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion of Global Dialogue and Democracy: Impact of genocide and starvation on women in Gaza.


2.⁠ ⁠Haneen Zidan, General Director of the Rural Women’s Development Society (RWDS): Settler terrorism and mobility restrictions targeting female farmers and undermining rural women’s safety and livelihoods.


3.⁠ ⁠Lana Bandaq, Director General for QADER: Compounded vulnerabilities of women and girls with disabilities under occupation and displacement.


4.⁠ ⁠Ruba Al-Mtour, Field Researcher at Women’s Centre for Legal Aid and Counselling (WCLAC): Political, legal, and socioeconomic violations against Palestinian women in Jerusalem under colonial control.


5.⁠ ⁠Nadwa Badaro, Lawyer at the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) Gaza: Sexual violence against Palestinian women, including violations against detainees.


6.⁠ ⁠Amal Syam, General Director of the Women’s Affairs Center (WAC) Gaza: Reproductive genocide through the destruction of reproductive health systems and denial of maternal care.
