What happens when women who have everything to lose still take their place at the negotiating table with their oppressors?
We warmly invite you to a special film evening about the courage, resilience, and struggle for peace by Afghan women. Join us on Thursday 19 June at Het Koorenhuis in The Hague.

Together, we’ll watch the powerful documentary The Sharp Edge of Peace. This film follows four courageous Afghan women who, in 2020, took part in peace negotiations with the Taliban. They risked their lives by sitting face-to-face with men determined to deny them even their most basic rights.

After the documentary, we’ll hold a panel discussion with the filmmaker Leslie Thomas, gender expert Anne Kwakkenbos, and Afghan colleagues from Cordaid who were forced to flee their country. We’ll end the evening with drinks, allowing time to talk and share stories.

This film evening is part of the Just Peace Festival. Attendance is free for Cordaid donors, and you are welcome to bring someone along.
