MIFTAH is pleased to invite you to a report launch and panel discussion titled: 'After the Ceasefire: Combating the Famine in Gaza'.

During this event we will launch our latest report, Starvation and the Violation of the Right to Food in the Gaza Strip, which draws on testimonies from Gaza to document this crime and analyze its political, legal, and humanitarian dimensions. Beyond exposing the systematic targeting of civilians through hunger, the report underscores the gendered impact of starvation on women in particular.

The panel will bring together voices from Gaza, representatives of humanitarian organizations, and leading experts on famine to convene a critical discussion on the situation following the ceasefire.

Panelists include:

  • Mr. Yazdan Al Amawi, Gaza Manager, ANERA
  • Alex De Waal, Professor at the Fletcher School Tufts University, and Executive Director, World Peace Foundation
  • Shadia Al-Ghoul, Gaza Branch Manager, MIFTAH
  • Khadeja Ibrahim, International Advocacy Acting Director, MIFTAH
  • Sarah El Khatib, WPS Fellow, MIFTAH
