Roundtable Discussion with Dr. Denis Mukwege

In honour of the 5th anniversary of the SEMA Network, the Mukwege Foundation is happy to invite you for a Roundtable Discussion with Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and human rights activist Dr. Denis Mukwege and members of SEMA, the Global Network of Victims and Survivors to End Wartime Sexual Violence.

The topic of discussion is:

As witnessed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Ukraine, and other (post) conflict-affected regions, sexual violence is being used to terrorise civilians, inflict trauma, and disintegrate the social knit of families and communities.

SEMA, the Global Network of Victims and Survivors to End Wartime Sexual Violence, was established in 2017 with the help of the Mukwege Foundation to draw global attention to the continued use of sexual violence as a weapon of war, and call for the changes needed to end the violence and achieve justice.

Five years on, we will reflect on the achievements so far as well as the complex challenges to address. Come join us to reflect on the survivors' journey in their pursuit of justice & accountability on:
