The Syrian Women’s Political Movement, co-sponsored by the Permanent Missions of Canada, Denmark, the Delegation of the European Union, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Spain, the United Kingdom, as well as UN Women, AI Ventures, Badael, Caucus Of Women in Politics in the Arab Region, Center for Civil Society and Democracy, Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace, and Security, Healing and Advocacy Center, Inclusive Security, Peace Track Initiative, Politics4Her, Syrian Female Journalists Network, Syrian Women’s Network, Window for Hope, Women’s International League for Peace Freedom, and Women Now for Development have the honor to invite representatives of member states, the UN diplomatic community, and the international NGO community to a high-level discussion hosted by UN Women on:

Towards Equality, Justice, and Democracy

This event seeks to highlight the key challenges facing women in Syria, promote their political and social participation, and ensure their rights and protection—all within a gender-inclusive framework for a just, democratic transition. Key themes are:

1.    Political Transition from a feminist perspective.

2.    Inclusive Peace Processes & Countering Hate Speech.

3.    Protection of Civilians and upholding international law.

4.    Combating Gender-Based Violence.
