Storytelling Event on Migration

NAP 1325 signatory New Women Connectors is organising a Storytelling for Solidarity - Storytelling event
Migration is in the news every day. From far-right protests to laws aiming to criminalize being undocumented, migrants and refugees, often already in precarious situations, are portrayed as problems to be solved. Politicians and the media continue to weaponize human movement, fueling hatred and fear for political gain, creating dangerous narratives and deepening injustices already faced by migrant communities.

Migration is not a crime, and not a problem to be solved.  It is a human reality shaped by courage, resilience, and hope. It is part of who we are, part of our stories.

It’s time to shift the conversation and reclaim the narrative.

New Women Connectors, in partnership with BAK, has been working with a group of inspiring individuals, all with lived experiences of migration, who want to challenge the status quo and reclaim ownership and power over their own stories and journeys. Over the course of the past months, they have been thinking, writing, and working on putting their stories onto paper and into spoken words.

Now the time has come, and they’re ready to take the stage and determine for themselves, what it means to live, to belong, to remember, to move.

Join us at ‘Storytelling for Solidarity’ as we resist narratives of exclusion and affirm the voices of migrants, refugees and displaced people.
