On Thursday the 21st of September, a very interesting webinar is organised by HealthnetTPO in collaboration with MHPSS.net. The webinar will take place at 15.30 NL time and is entitled “Addressing Psychosocial Wellbeing, Peacebuilding and GBV: Voices from South Sudan and Colombia”.
The protracted conflicts in both Colombia and South Sudan have left deep imprints on the mental health and psychosocial wellbeing of individuals and communities, disproportionately affecting women, girls, and other marginalised communities. Recognising the critical role that MHPSS plays in healing, recovery, and sustainable peace and development, it is imperative to adopt a gender-sensitive lens to MHPSS and peacebuilding interventions. In this context, we invite you to be part of an event aimed at illuminating the practices and knowledge from two distinct territorial experiences.
Join us for an inspiring webinar that explores MHPSS and peacebuilding practices in Colombia and South Sudan from a culturally- and gender-sensitive lens. The session will highlight the perspectives of local MHPSS practitioners and community leaders who are actively working towards peacebuilding, enhancing psychosocial well-being, and amplifying the voices of women within their unique contexts.
Organised by HealthNet TPO, this webinar is part of an ongoing series by the MHPSS and Peacebuilding Working Group of the IASC MHPSS Reference Group to share best practices and approaches for linking the two fields.
This webinar will outline HealthNet TPO’s MHPSS interventions in Colombia and South Sudan, working towards creating an enabling environment for psychosocial wellbeing, with a focus on prevention and response to violence against women and girls. We will also hear from two inspiring female community leaders from both countries, who will share their first-hand accounts of community-based practices and shed light on the crucial role that MHPSS plays in building sustainable peace.
Don’t miss this opportunity to listen to these inspiring voices from Colombia and South Sudan, where we aim to build bridges and glean invaluable lessons for driving inclusive, culturally-appropriate, and gender-sensitive MHPSS and peacebuilding interventions. Simultaneous English-Spanish translation will be available.
