WPS SIDE EVENT - A Reality Check of Dutch Feminist Foreign Policy in Afghanistan & South Sudan: Navigating Trade-Offs and Leveraging Opportunities In Fragile Settings

Cordaid and Women's International Peace Centre are organising an in-person Learning Session on a research paper released earlier this year, 'A Reality Check of Dutch Feminist Foreign Policy in Afghanistan & South Sudan: Navigating Trade-Offs and Leveraging Opportunities In Fragile Settings.'
This report was published by Cordaid, Women’s International Peace Centre (WIPC) and The Broker. It presents key insights from Dutch feminist foreign policy (FFP) initiatives in South Sudan and Afghanistan, synthesizing challenges and opportunities. It defines and explores the concept of FFP and its relevance to social contracts in fragile settings, and examines Dutch FFP objectives and critical assumptions. A unique resource, the report is instructive to other governments’ future programming and policy decisions, and urges FFP implementation to remain relevant, effective, and responsive to realities.
