Gender transformative aid

Relief assistance during acute crisis and emergencies and long-term reconstruction and recovery assistance for women and girls should be based on their actual needs. We strive for gender transformative humanitarian aid, contributing to the empowerment of women and girls. Providing the basic needs of women in all their diversity is a first step towards women’s participation and leadership in humanitarian aid, peace processes, reconstruction and recovery. We work on gender-sensitive, gender-responsive and gender-transformative humanitarian aid which includes physical and mental healthcare and psychosocial support, and incorporates the socio-economic position of women and girls.
