Launch Building Inclusive Security: Localising 1325 Across Ukraine - Ukrainian Women’s Fund
On 5 March, the Ukrainian Women’s Fund officially launched its new programme, Building Inclusive Security: Localising1325 Across Ukraine. The programme is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented in partnership with WO=MEN.
During the launch event, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and WO=MEN highlighted the critical role of Ukrainian women’s leadership in the current context of conflict. They stressed the importance of applying a gender lens to both humanitarian responses and long-term recovery efforts, and welcomed the adoption of the new Ukraine National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security (NAP 1325, 2026–2030).
To complement the programme launch, the Ukrainian Women’s Fund posed a central question:
“What does security mean in my community and region today?”
Localising NAP 1325 means grounding global commitments in lived realities. To explore how this works in practice, the Ukrainian Women’s Fund invited six women from across Ukraine to reflect on security in their own contexts. Their perspectives come from the Chernihiv, Zakarpattia, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, and Lviv oblasts, offering diverse insights shaped by their (local) experiences.
