Description of your organization/institution

St. VOND established in 2005 with a prime aim of creating a platform for women to be active and influences change, peace and reconciliation. VOND supports the efforts of women organizations in The Netherlands and Sudan in general and Darfur in particular, where all members of society participate fully and be able to develop their capacities and ambitions. VOND aims to create an enabling; social economic environment for the youth and community strengthening.

Description of your main WPS related activities

VOND Implemented different projects on WPS; in The Netherlands, a symposium in 2006 on “Role of women in peace-building and reconciliation. In Sudan and Darfur; a 5-days training course in Khartoum on “Enhancing the Participation of Darfur Women In the Political Process”, establishment of a training center in Nyala for women and youth in 2009. Further, the NAP1325 funded projects are a pilot program on “Women leadership and political participation in 2013, a program on women leadership and peace building program; “LEAP” in 2015/2016, and a youth project “Youth for Social Cohesion” within the program “P4ALL” in South Darfur in 2018-2020.

Advocacy

VOND is active in advocating for WPS through our membership in organizations such as PV DV, Wo=men and contribution to NAP community, lobby group and OB. VOND aims to contribute to all areas of the UNSCR1325 but due to lack of funding at the moment, the team is unable to contribute to the other areas and outcomes.
