Release Peace - the Magazine, reports on international affairs: The goal of the magazine is to shed light on underreported stories and bring minority voices to the attention of our readership. Gender mainstreaming is important in their editorial approach. This article draws on experiences by an Iranian-Kiwi woman who was born and raised in Iran and courageously took part herself in the Green Movement protests in Iran in 2009. The article places the current protests and the Iranian Feminist movement in a historic perspective. This article was written as part of a collaboration between Release Peace and the University of Auckland.
