Description of your organization/institution
YWCA Netherlands is a non-profit organization, based solely on volunteers. We are an active member of the World Wide YWCA. We have a mission of being “committed to a fairer world for women and young girls”. Within our mission, we define our work with four pillars “women and development”, “women and rights”, “women and the world” and “women and connection.
We have the objectives to encourage awareness, connect women culturally and economically, inspire women, and create safe spaces. We also have a goal to promote female leadership and provide resources for women to develop and share knowledge for future use.

YWCA Netherlands is a non-profit organization. We are an active member of the World YWCA. The World YWCA is a global movement working for the rights, empowerment and leadership of (young) women and girls in more than 100 countries. Empowering women and girls is our way to change the world. Our members and supporters include women from many different faiths, ages, backgrounds, beliefs and cultures.
Description of your main WPS related activities
We are trying to raise awareness for the gender dimension of peace and security by advocating, giving lectures and organizing events on this topic. We are also creating online safe spaces to discuss this topic in countries where it is a taboo or where women are not encouraged to join discussions on peace and security.
