Middle East and North Africa Research Associates (MENARA) is a think tank that focuses on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, with a special emphasis on Yemen.
MENARA is dedicated to producing and transferring knowledge across cultures, shedding light on pressing international issues, and co-creating collaborative solutions and research with social impact regarding Yemen and the broader MENA region. It aims to bridge the gap between the global North and South by promoting dialogue and understanding among academics, researchers, civil society organizations, policymakers, activists, grassroots practitioners, and all those interested in global peace and dialogue. MENARA is committed to influencing worldwide policy and practice through an emphasis on constructive practical engagement, social responsibility, civil society diplomacy, multidisciplinary, policy-relevant research, and critical scholarship.
Description of your main WPS related activities
- Collaborative research and knowledge production with social impact from a gender transformative approaches and transnational justice related to the WPS agenda - Dissemination of research results and organizing WPS related events - Raising awareness and building capacity in issues related to the WPS agenda - Gender sensitive assessments of the situation with regard to issues related to the WPS agenda - Monitoring and evaluation of the WPS projects - Policy analysis and providing advice and recommendations to policymakers in the field of WPS - Networking and supporting local, national and international organizations in relation to the WPS agenda - Advocating for women's empowerment, participation and social justice in the field of WPS
