Stichting Vrouwen voor Vrede op de Molukken (VvVM) was established as a result of the unrest between the Muslim and Christian population in the Moluccas. This civil war (1999 to 2004) had an enormous impact on the Moluccan community in the Netherlands.

Through the maintenance of 'inter-religious' dialogue and the initiation of 'joint' activities of Moluccan Muslims and Moluccan Christians, VvVM wants to contribute to sustainable peace building, both in the Moluccas and in the Netherlands.
